Modoc Joins Placer County in Making Unusual Pre-Primary Endorsement

The Modoc County Republican Central Committee has voted unanimously to endorse Tom McClintock in his bid for the 4th congressional seat.

“All members felt that Tom McClintock best represented the values of Modoc County,” said Geri Byrne, Modoc County Republican Party Chair.  “Senator McClintock is the leading conservative voice among California Republicans.  We are thrilled to endorse McClintock and have him represent us in Congress.”

Party organizations typically resist contested pre-primary endorsements.  In the 4th District race for Congress, McClintock has now earned endorsements from not only the Modoc County GOP, but also the Placer County Republican Central Committee.

In addition to local party endorsements in the district, Sen. McClintock won the endorsement of the California Republican Assembly, the state’s oldest and largest Republican volunteer organization.  A number of years ago, President Ronald Reagan called CRA "the conscience of the Republican Party."

“Today in California, Tom McClintock is the conscience of the Republican Party and we need his conservative values—our values—represented in Washington DC,” Byrne said.
