Press ReleasesNFIB Endorses State Senator Tom McClintock “for Protecting Free Enterprise”

The National Federation of Independent Business announced its support of State Senator Tom McClintock for the U.S. House of Representatives in the race for California’s 4th Congressional District.

The NFIB's political action committee, the SAFE (Save America's Free Enterprise) Trust endorsed Senator McClintock based on his proven commitment to solving the challenges that small businesses face in America today.

Dan Danner, Executive Vice President of the NFIB, said that Senator McClintock's election "is not only critical to the small-business owners in [the] district, but also to protecting free enterprise across America."

"Small businesses are a driving force behind our nation's economy," McClintock said. "They provide considerable innovation and output to keep our economy humming in a competitive world. The NFIB has long been a strong advocate for freedom in commerce and limited government. I welcome their support for my campaign to restore those principles back to Congress."

Danner pointed out that the significant wealth generated by small businesses "exposes hardworking entrepreneurs to bureaucrats, political bosses and single issue groups who believe they can advance an agenda of unfair tax burdens, frivolous lawsuits and unnecessary government intervention on the backs of small business owners."

For 22 years, McClintock has fought to reduce the taxes and regulations that have burdened small businesses throughout the state. Small businesses in particular are vulnerable to government mandates, making congressional elections a significant issue for them.

The National Federation of Independent Business is the most prominent advocate of small business in Washington, D.C., with offices in every state capital. It coordinates a powerful network of grassroots activists to promote free enterprise and to create a better environment in which small businesses can flourish.
